Q: Do you print your scrapbook layouts?

A: Yes, I do! I love to have my completed layout in albums for my family and friends to enjoy. I print my layouts on 13x19" Epson Premium Luster photo paper using my Epson 2200 printer. There are many online printing companies including Shutterfly.com, which offers photo books in several different sizes that you can upload your digital layouts into.

Q: Do I need a special program to create digital layouts?

A: You need a software/photo editing program that supports .png files, such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Digital Image Suite, Picture It, Paint Shop Pro, etc. If you open .png files in a program that does not support them, they will not have a transparent background as they should.

Q: What software program do you scrap with?

A: I create most of my layouts in Digital Image Pro (now Digital Image Suite). It is a Microsoft-based program, so the functionality is familiar and very similar to Powerpoint, which is the program I originally used to plan my paper layouts years ago. DIP does not have some of the advanced functionality of Photoshop and others, but with the wide variety of plug-ins available online, it comes close.
